Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection that can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death.

Normally our immune system usually works to prevent or fight infection – but sometimes, for reasons we don’t yet understand in fighting an infection it can attack our body’s own organs and tissues. Come along to this informative talk with Mary Bedding, Assistant Director of Nursing (Sepsis) for the RCSI Hospitals and member of the Irish National Sepsis Team.
