Coding for Primary Schools Workshop
Beginners Guide to Coding workshops will introduce primary school children to the wonders of Scratch, the world’s most popular programming language for young people.
Scratch combines youthful creativity and curiosity with school subjects such as mathematics and art in a vibrant digital environment that allows children to become adept at computer coding in a remarkably short period of time. Tutor will be Brendan Smith of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at NUI Galway.
Coding workshops
In this 1 hour taster session attendees will get a basic introduction to computer coding concepts. Using iPads with block-based programming software the children will get to control mini Ozobot robots. Interactive session suited to children aged 8+.
